Our love story began with a chance encounter on social media website that was more primitive than Myspace. Slowly we developed a foundation rooted in friendship that had seeds of romance sowed with promise. After our first date, I had extended an invitation for Trumaine to visit One Community Church in Plano. I received a text that he was in attendance on the first Sunday after we met. This particular Sunday my family happen to be at church. So, Trumaine met my siblings and my parents on our second date. Three months later he professed his love with such care that it brought tears to my eyes. Also, thoughtfully selected flowers and jewelry was a sweet touch. Over the preceding years this man had become the love of my life and taught me how to pray more deeply and developed a stronger relationship with God.
Our first date was at Bowlmor bowling alley on Beltline in Addison, TX on the 4th of July 2013. There was a lot of anticipation building up to this date, however as soon as our eyes met I felt my nervousness dissipate. Trumaine’s eyes were wide and friendly as we greeted each other. I quickly became curious of his intense stare, until he complimented me by saying, “Wow, you are just so beautiful.” After, we picked out bowling shoes and started our game I could tell this man was quite a character! When it was his turn to bowl, he picked up both bowling balls and started to do biceps curls. Then we shared a laugh and broke the ice a little. The rest is history!
There is absolutely no contest; our favorite holiday is Christmas! On Christmas night our tradition for the last 2 years had been to tour the Christmas lights within the neighborhood. After viewing lights along our usual route, Trumaine decided to continue the drive. Within a few minutes, we ended up at Frisco Square. Suddenly, I was surprised with a unexpected stroll. He guided me around the busy area that was gleaming with streams of light and the excitement of Christmas; and we ended up at a small church. Then Trumaine directed my attention to a sparkling star that elegantly adorned a large Christmas tree, which was visible through the churches large windows. Next Trumaine said, “I want our love to last like the stars forever,” and then he proposed! This was the BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!
Statuesque and breathtakingly beautiful the Marty Leonard Community Chapel was the only choice of venue for our wedding. The first time we enter the chapel we were both the awestruck with the experience. We quickly reached a consensus that this chapel was one of the most beautiful place that we have witnessed in person. Therefore, we are extremely excited to share our union with family and friends in such as special place.
